Optus Centre: Sydney Australia
Late 2007 saw the commissioning of a new Head Office for Optus Australia. In North Ryde on Sydney’s North Shore and housing some 5000 employees in six low-rise ultra-modern buildings the complex is a flagship facility for Optus and sets the standard in Australia for employee friendly, low environmental impact workplaces. As befits a leading telecommunications company such as Optus the buildings are hi-tech and optimised for employee comfort and maximum productivity.

The North Ryde development includes a two level, 1600 bay underground staff and visitor car park plus a small amount of on street parking. As most staff parking is unallocated Optus required a system to guide staff arriving for work, to the available parks as quickly as possible. At the start of each work shift, there is a very high concentration of staff arriving in vehicles in a very short time period. To avoid long queues and congestion on access roads around the complex, a Car Parking Technologies SmartGuide system with full signage system was installed. This has significantly reduced the delays and congestion and greatly assisted of staff arriving at their workspaces in a timely fashion.
